At Scars & Stripes, N.E.W. Champion “The Extreme” Brian Emanon lived up to his moniker of being extreme, and survived only the second in Next Era Wrestling history, the Fans Bring The Weapons match. Brian and Ron Falco completely annihilated each other, using anything they could get their hands on to try and win the match. Ultimately, the Swanton Splash on to some appropriately placed steel chairs sealed Ron Falco's fate, earning Brian the hard-fought win.
After the match however, Ultimate Clash 5 winner Kriptic Keegan entered the ring with a referee looking to redeem his Clash victory right then and there. He attacked Brian and had him set up for the Curb Stomp when former Champion JC Money ran to the ring and cleared out Keegan with a series of punches and a vicious clothesline over the top rope.
A confused Brian Emanon rose to his feet to see his bitter rival extend his hand and hand him the belt. Reluctant at first, Brian shook JC's hand and celebrated to the crowd....until JC attacked him from behind, and applied his modified Sharpshooter called the “Money Clip” refusing to let go. This prompted N.E.W. Legend, “The Dark Pony” JP Black to come to ringside and demand that Money let go of the hold. When he refused to do so, despite numerous attempts at reasoning by the future Hall Of Famer to let go, JP informed JC that he would be suspended for a month. Not only was he suspended, but Mr. Perez was as well for his repeated attacks with his Mag Light after the hold was released. Security flooded the ring, and the crowd was stunned at the recent developments.
JP indicated that Kriptic had a right to his match, to which JC responded that he as well has a rematch clause that he is entitled to. Kriptic was enraged that his opportunity was taken away from him and JC further justified his suspension by punching a security guard. Questions remain unanswered to this day, such as whom will Brian be competing against at Criminal Intent? Is he going to be 100% when the event rolls around? With Kriptic facing a member of the Underworld Cartel of Titus Smith's choosing, and JC Money being suspended for the month, who will be the one to step up to the plate to challenge the Champion in his vulnerable state? Perhaps another former Champion? Maybe a Disciple of Destiny? And what role does JP Black in all of this? Hopefully we will find out as Criminal Intent draws closer.
Da Latin Soldier became the latest UWC member to bring a singles championship back to the supergroup. After a lengthy chase for the Next Division Title, DLS finally took his spot on the top of the Next Division, defeating Eric Emanon and International Star Cloudy to become Champion. This did not come without complications though as former Champion Horace White was unable to defend his Championship, had his championship vacated the N.E.W. Board of Director. JP Black, having promised a 3 way dance, pulled Cloudy as the wild card.
In a fast paced match that saw plenty of high risks, Da Latin Soldier finished off Eric Emanon by pinning his shoulders to the mat and delivered on his promise to walk out of Scars & Stripes as Champion.
August 21st at Criminal Intent, Da Latin Soldier will have his first title defense against Eric Emanon. This will finally be a 1 on 1 encounter, and many people are saying that this will be the “sleeper” matchup that defines the division and steals the show. What crazy measures will Eric Emanon take to become champion? What measures will Da Latin Soldier take wihtout Mr. Perez ringside? Be sure to get your tickets today! They are going fast, and you surely will not want to miss this encounter.
Recently we have seen N.E.W. Legend, “The Dark Pony” JP Black make appearances making matches, discussing current events in Next Era, and even suspending superstars that get out of line. The most questions that the Feedback Team has received has been,
“Dear Next Era, what exactly is JP Black's role?”
After doing some research, our Media Team has discovered that there was a vacant position at the N.E.W. Board of Directors, which JP was appointed to.
JC Money attempted to appeal his suspension, citing that Next Era Wrestling competitors were not properly notified of this change, however his appeal was denied and his suspension remains in tact.
Make sure you get your tickets today to see JP Black, along with all of your favorite Next Era Wrestling Stars at N.E.W.'s Criminal Intent 2010.
At the end of Retribution as Titus Smith was looking to put away Kriptic Keegan, the Disciples of Destiny interrupted and along with Kriptic, proceeded to attack Titus. This prompted the rest of the Underworld Cartel to come out from the back and go to battle for their fellow man. As if that was not enough ammunition, to even up the odds, and (shockingly) much to the delight of the crowd in attendance, "The Righteous One" JC Money returned and rejoined his UWC Bretheren and cleaned house. After Titus challenged Kriptic to a "Pick Your Poison" Challenge for Scars & Stripes, JC took the microphone and simply said to "Mad Dog" Bobby Rogers, "We're back!"
While it is no secret that the UWC has it's share of fans, the entire Next Era crowd has been supportive of the group in recent months. The crowd got behind Tyger Smith and the Bacardi Kid during their match with Capital Punishment, Titus Smith since the Clash, and JC Money returning. Is this a sign of a new outlook for The UWC? Not necessarily..N.E.W. Media caught up with JC Money whom was with his cousin Da Latin Soldier as they were leaving and JC said, "I came out to help my family, nothing more, nothing less. Make no mistake about it, popularity or not, Brian Emanon has my belt and I want it. I will have it back, and I don't care what the fans think of that." Soldier also added, "And at Scars & Stripes, I will win the Next Division title from Horace White...regardless of how they feel."
Questions still remain as to what the Cartel's next move is, or how exactly the Disciples of Destiny feels about this. Will they retaliate? There has been a war of words lately on JC Money, Cassius Cutcher, and Superbeast's respective Twitter accounts. This is something to watch...when 2 rival gangs cross each others path, something bad usually happens.
Scars and Stripes will certainly live up to it’s name as the Main Event of the evening will feature N.E.W.’s first Fans Bring the Weapons Match in 4 years. After months on uncontrolled brawls Next Era Wrestling officials have announced Ron Falco and Brian Emanon will face each other in this brutal match with the Next Era Wrestling World Championship on the line.
The last time such a match occurred was at the first Ultimate Clash which saw Din Mak compete against Ryot with the North Eastern championship on the line. JC Money snuck his way into that match and was able to capitalize and win the championship.
What surprises will this match bring? Secure your tickets for Scars and Stripes today to find out!
